the Sarajevo City Council adopted the conclusion that the city will not be organizing a New Year's celebration and instead, they will donate the funds for the treatment of sick children.

Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Maric confirmed on her Facebook profile that this was her proposal, adding that “half of the €25,000 will go for the treatment of children suffering from cancer, and the other half for the treatment of diabetes in children.”

Two days ago, the City Council decided to cancel plans for the New Year's celebration citing the possible worsening of the epidemiological situation in the city.

The Sarajevo Canton’s Health Ministry said they offered instructions and recommendations as to how to organise such events and that they never recommended not organizing them.
