The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against tram driver Adnan Kasapovic following a comprehensive investigation into the fatal tram derailment that occurred on February 12 near the National Museum. The tragic accident resulted in the death of 23-year-old Fine Arts student Erdoan Morankic and left four others injured, including a 17-year-old girl who suffered severe injuries requiring leg amputation. Alongside the primary traffic safety charges, prosecutors examined an anonymous report and media claims concerning auxiliary maintenance systems, video surveillance, and advertising space leasing contracts on the vehicles.
Following a thorough review of the evidence, the prosecution determined that those specific allegations did not constitute criminal offenses and issued an order not to conduct an investigation into those aspects.
