Head of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina Johann Sattler told Austrian media that the EU measures regarding the blockade of Bosnian state institutions are an option and that there are various ways to react, “financial subsidies” being one of them.
He said that the most important institutions including the parliament, the presidency and the Council of Ministers are “de facto blocked” and that such actions of the Bosnian Serbs are not only against the rules but also against the country's EU membership application.
There are different ways to react, he stressed, adding that the financial subsidies are a clear way of showing that this is against the rules, the Kronen Zeitung, Austrian tabloid, reported.
According to Sattler, this could also be seen as an attempt by Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik to force the other side i.e. the Bosniaks to the negotiating table.
