International peace envoy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, High Representative Christian Schmidt, has announced a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, as a part of his role in upholding peace, integrity and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Schmidt made the announcement on social networks, without specifying when will the meeting take place.
“Looking forward to engaging with all relevant stakeholders within my capacity and mandate under Dayton in advancing the International Community's role in upholding peace, integrity, and stability in BiH, said HR Schmidt. The next meeting will be with Serbian President Vucic,” according to the post on the official account of the Office of the High Representative (OHR).
The German diplomat was appointed in August 2022, taking over from Austrian Valentin Inzko.
The Office of the High Representative was established following the 1992-95 Bosnian war, to oversee the civilian part of the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which put an end to the conflict.
