Juvenile suspect of the school shooting on Wednesday morning in Bosnia's town of Lukavac earlier threatened he would take revenge for being transferred from another school, according to a politician who disclosed content of messages that discussed the issue last month.
“This is a message from May 22, 2023, when I learned that a student is threatening with revenge after being transferred from a school, and I asked for the information to see if we got to our senses and made sure that Belgrade does not happen to us too,” Osmanovic wrote in a Facebook post, suggesting to the recent Belgrade school shooting which left eight students and a school guard dead.
Osmanovic sent the message to the police administration in the Tuzla Canton, informing them about a meeting of parents at the Lukavac Grad elementary school (where the Wednesday shooting took place), which discussed two pupils who brought weapon to the class.
Allegedly, one of them was threatening to take revenge for being transferred from a different school.
According to Osmanovic, he got no written feedback to this message but only a brief Viber call, where he was told that “everything is under control” and that they “could not provide more information because it concerns a juvenile person.”
“I trusted to the system and I have no idea why,” he added.
One person was injured on Wednesday morning in the shooting, and the suspect was immediately arrested.
