Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said on Thursday that the detention of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Security Minister Nenad Nesic "brings a sense of insecurity and unrest for the Serb people in BiH".

Vucevic stated that Serbia is monitoring the situation and added that Nesic was detained in Istocno Sarajevo, according to the order “of the Prosecutor's Office from Sarajevo.”

“Everything that has been happening in BiH lately is strange. This pressure on Dodik to attend the trial immediately after the operation, the violent acceleration of some processes and procedures, the strange decisions of some experts that he is able to attend without examining the patient, and the need to finish the trials in a short period of time,” Vucevic said, Tanjug reported.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that Nesic and six others were arrested on suspicion of abuse of position in PE Autoputeva RS in the period from 2016 to 2020 when the current Security Minister was at the head of that company. Nesic was arrested in operation “Tunel 2” and the RS Interior Ministry, which carried out the arrest on the order of the BiH Prosecutor's Office stated that searches of residential and business units used by persons arrested in the area are in progress Banja Luka, Istocno Sarajevo and Bijeljina.
