Serbian President and Serbian Armed Forces Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vucic has ordered combat readiness for the armed forces and police units at the highest level.

“As the Supreme Commander, the Serbian President ordered this evening that the Serbian Armed Forces be on the highest level of combat readiness, that is, to the level of the use of armed force,” Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic said late on Monday.

“It raises us to the highest level of action carried out by the Serbian Armed Forces, protecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and protecting all citizens of Serbia and preventing a pogrom and terrorism against Serbs wherever they live,” said Minister Vucevic.

Internal Affairs Minister Bratislav Gasic also said that “on the President’s order” he ordered the full combat readiness of all police and other security units and that they be placed under the command of the Army Chief of Staff and „take positions according to the operational plan.”

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that all measures will be taken to protect the Serbs in Kosovo.
