Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Friday that due to the adoption of the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, Serbia will also seek the adoption of a resolution on the Jasenovac suffering.
Vucic prepared a working lunch for the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity Milorad Dodik, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije and members of the Holy Council of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church during which he assessed that the adoption of the Resolution on Srebrenica will open Pandora's box because “the Russians will soon initiate a request to declare the German killing of the Russian and Soviet people during the Second World War a genocidal war”.
“And we will demand the same for what the Germans did in Serbia and for what the Croatian Ustasha did in Jasenovac. But I won’t even mention many other issues for Turkey and for some other Western powers, starting from the native Americans to many others,” Vucic said.
He pointed out that the issue of passing the Resolution on Srebrenica is “difficult” because it shows the attitude towards Serbia by some countries in the region, as well as some world powers.
According to him, that resolution was passed secretly and “it is a notorious untruth” that it is a Resolution that should only mark suffering and nothing more.
“Because, if that were the case, they wouldn't even have to make it, since there is already a decision of the UN General Assembly on all the genocides that happened around the world. But that was not important for them, they wanted to commemorate Srebrenica in particular,” added Vucic.
The Serbian President reiterated that a large All-Serb Assembly will be held on June 8, stressing that the Assembly would not be All-Serb without the participation of the Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
