Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic suddenly fell ill during his visit to the United States, after which he sought medical assistance and, following a check-up, decided to return to Serbia. According to information obtained by Tanjug news agency early on Saturday morning, he is already on his way back to Belgrade.
As a result, President Vucic did not attend the main events for which he had travelled to the US.
According to Tanjug's sources, Vucic fell ill in the early afternoon local time. At the time, he was in a room with Finance Minister Sinisa Mali and his media adviser Suzana Vasiljevic, preparing for meetings.
The President's Office is expected to inform the public in the coming days about the nature of his condition.
US President's special foreign envoy extended best wishes to Vucic via social network, not specifying if Vucic was supposed to meet him only or another US administration official.
