The Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, said on Wednesday at the Bosnian town of Pale, where he attended the baptism celebration and the Municipality's day as godfather, that "Serbs are a unique political nation, and that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will protect Serbs wherever they live.” He commented on the ban on his helicopter’s flight in Bosnia as well as on his list of persons from Bosnia and Herzegovina who are not allowed to enter Serbia.

He also spoke about “all Serbs living together,” who cannot do so “because of the will of great powers.”

“Today I am the godfather of the Pale baptism, and that is why I speak last because being a godfather among Serbs is one of the most sacred duties and the greatest honour someone can give you. I am grateful to everyone in Pale and Republika Srpska (RS). I wish for peace, progress, and prosperity, and I’m sure that everything that depends on Serbia and the RS will be good and successful. As the Declaration of the All-Serb Assembly said, we Serbs do not live in the same country, not by our own will but by the will of great powers, and this must not prevent us from being a united political nation and from deciding together and thinking together about all important issues in our lives. Serbs are a unique political nation that shares good and bad regardless of where they live, and Serbia and the RS are the guarantors of the Serbian people, telling them that they will last and survive. History has taught us that where the Serbs did not have the support of their country or their state, they didn’t survive. Neither Serbia nor the RS will allow this anymore, and President Aleksandar Vucic is certain that Serbs will protect Serbs wherever they live,” Vulin said.

He also commented on the fact that Bosnia’s Foreign Ministry did not allow him to fly over BiH and the Minister’s reasonong behind the decision.

“It amused me. I don't know what to make of it. He banned me [from coming] – and yet I came. I was surprised by the ban because I came yesterday and didn’t know that I was banned, if I had known I would have behaved differently. These are election reasons. He and the Democratic Action Party (SDA) are now competing to see who will be the bigger Bosniak, against the malignant influence of Serbia… These are their internal struggles and it’s all funny to me. What’s not funny is Prebilovci. I went to pray for the thousands who were slaughtered. You can only imagine what would happen if someone from the RS forbids an FBiH minister or a minister from Turkey to enter Srebrenica. Can you imagine that? The world would collapse. I don't understand what he needs and what he thinks he's showing with it,” Vulin said.

When asked if he compiled the list of Serbia’s personae non-gata himself, he said that they have competent authorities who decide if someone can be a security risk and that every country has the right to declare someone undesirable.

“The more you respect Serbia and the RS, the better relations you’ll have with Serbia,” he said, repeating that they respect the sovereignty and integrity of BiH.
