The National Security Council of Serbia, in an emergency session chaired by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, condemned the "undemocratic, uncivilized, and unlawful verdict" of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo against the President of BiH's Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, describing it as "the biggest crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina since the end of the war."
“This crisis is the result of a general attack by Sarajevo and the West on Republika Srpska, aimed at its redefinition and disappearance. We call for unity and solidarity of the entire Serb people and all political parties both in Republika Srpska and Serbia,” said Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic after the Council meeting.
He also stated that the Council expressed opposition to foreign interference in Bosnia and Herzegovina, arguing that such interference is precisely what led to this situation.
Dacic emphasized deep concern over the verdict against the entity's president but stressed that the most important thing is a calm response.
He reiterated Serbia’s call for respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement and an end to its further erosion, as it was the agreement that ended the war in BiH.
The meeting of Serbia’s National Security Council was attended by outgoing Prime Minister Milos Vucevic, Minister of Justice Maja Popovic, Minister of Defense Bratislav Gasic, Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric, Chief of the General Staff Milan Mojsilovic, Speaker of the National Assembly Ana Brnabic, and BIA (Security Information Agency) Director Vladimir Orlic.
