Bosnia and Herzegovina is about the brace another heatwave in the following days with the air temperatures expected to rise over 40 degrees Celsius, hydrometeorological services have warned.

The Hydrometeorological Institute of Republika Srpska, one of Bosnia's two entities, has issued the orange warning as of Thursday due to the temperatures that have reached 32 to 38 degrees and are expected to rise.

The situation is as alarming in Bosnia's other part, the Federation BiH entity.

In the following days, the meteorologists have announced red warning for larger parts of the country.

Weatherman Nedim Sladic told N1 that the air temperature is likely to exceed 40 degrees in the south of the country, but that the real feel of the heat will be much higher.

“The forecast has been clear and thoroughly explained in the past days. We follow the recommendations of the health and hydrometeorological services,” he noted.

The competent services advice the citizens to avoid outdoor activities and spending time in the open during the hottest periods of the day, to hydrate and to protect themselves from the sun.
