A hearing on the extension of custody of the former Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) director Osman Mehmedagic and the suspended President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ranko Debevac, was held at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, at which the prosecutor Bojana Jolovic presented some shocking details.
The public was excluded from one point of the hearing due to its nature. As is known, this part referred to sexual harassment of female employees.
However, what attracted special media attention was the prosecutor's claims that Ranko Debevec allegedly received a car from the “Kramar” car dealership while he was conducting more than 700 proceedings against that company in Court. This was happening in the period from 2019 to 2021.
At the hearing, the prosecutor said that Debevec registered the said vehicle in the name of his wife's sister.
The prosecutor stated that he took a 2014 Polo. The car was worth some 15,000 Bosnian marks (approx. €7,500).
The next point for which the extension of detention was requested was the alleged obtaining of property benefits from Zdravko Mamic, with whom he met in the tavern “Dado” near Grude.
Mamic testified in SIPA. He told the investigators that he gave the then President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina a wristwatch the value of which was € 15,000 and said that it was a symbolic gift.
Prosecutor Jolovic stated that the then President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina met with Djordje Zdrale, and his lawyer. Zdrale is a criminal accused of killing several people who, in 2010, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of the then head of the Police Administration of the Republika Srpska entity, Ljubisa Savic Mauzer, in Bijeljina,
Mehmedagic and Debevec were arrested at the end of December 2023.
