Six candles were lit at the Srebrenica–Potocari Memorial and Cemetery for the Victims of the 1995 Genocide on Wednesday to commemorate the six million Jews killed in WWII and mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
January 27 marks the day when the largest Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, was liberated by the Red Army in 1945.
“On the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Srebrenica Memorial Center remembers the victims of the Holocaust and the importance of the daily fight against impunity, anti-Semitism, discrimination and hate speech. We remember together. Six candles for the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust,” the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial Center said.
