Six migrants injured in armed clash at Blazuj camp near Sarajevo

The Sarajevo Canton Interior Ministry confirmed that the incident occurred around 9:25 pm in the Kamenolom area near the Ilidza neighbourhood. According to the police, firearms were used during the altercation.

All six injured individuals were transported to the Clinical Centre of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS) for medical treatment. While the full extent of their injuries was initially unknown, authorities later confirmed that five of the men sustained serious bodily injuries. Medical professionals have not yet assessed the severity of the injuries sustained by the sixth individual. Two of the victims remain in a life-threatening condition.

Among the injured are one Pakistani and five Afghan nationals.

Following reports of gunfire from residents in the area, a significant number of police and special forces were dispatched to the scene. The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office has been informed, and police remain active on the ground.

Overnight, several individuals were questioned as witnesses. The Ministry of Interior also reported that multiple suspects are currently being held at police headquarters. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
