Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) conducted searches of business and residential buildings and movable property in 13 locations across Bosnia and arrested six people in the operation called "Index".
The arrested were taken to SIPA premises for criminal processing and questioning as suspects. Their further status will be decided by the acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the legal term.
According to Avaz Daily, Damir Zuga, Hajriz Becirovic, Edina Brutus, Kaja Imsirovic and Melvedin Jasarevic were arrested. The investigation is related to the functioning of the International University in Gorazde and concerns the issuing of false diplomas.
In the searches that were carried out in the area of Sarajevo, Zenica, Gorazde, Travnik and Konjic, a large amount of documentation, university diplomas, student files, documentation related to the financial operations of legal entities, seals, € 24,000 and 20,000 Bosnian marks and computers were discovered and temporarily confiscated along with other items that can act as evidence in criminal proceedings.
The searches were carried out by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with police officers of the Federation (FBiH) entity’s Police Administration, the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Zenica-Doboj Canton, Bosnia-Podrinje Canton, Central Bosnia Canton and Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
