The Director of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange (IDDEEA), Almir Badnjevic, met with the Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH, Luigi Soreca, to discuss the country’s digital transformation. Their talks focused on implementing innovative technologies, improving infrastructure, enhancing cybersecurity, and offering advanced digital services to citizens.
Particular attention was given to successfully introducing the qualified electronic signature (e-signature), which IDDEEA made accessible to all citizens of BiH this year. This innovation allows for simple, secure, and efficient access to digital services.
Badnjevic expressed gratitude to the EU Delegation for its continued support, highlighting collaborative initiatives such as the Digital ID Wallet (e-wallet). Developed in line with the EIDAS 2 regulation, this project is set to accelerate BiH’s digital transformation further and enable seamless access to public and private services for citizens.
Luigi Soreca emphasized the importance of these efforts, noting their role in simplifying procedures for both citizens and businesses.
“Digitalization of public services is a vital reform on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path, with direct benefits for its citizens,” Soreca concluded.
