Soreca conveyed that joining the European Union represents a free and sovereign decision for the country, emphasizing that membership encompasses far more than simple access to the single market. He noted that accession constitutes entry into a political union built upon shared values and strategic choices.

"The European Union remains a committed partner supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path toward accession. It is important for Bosnia and Herzegovina to move forward and not miss valuable opportunities," Soreca said.

He further assessed the European Council President’s visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a significant signal of European support for the integration process, whilst reinforcing that the perspective of membership remains firmly open for the countries of the Western Balkans.
