Emir Suljagic, the head of the Srebrenica Memorial Centre, has announced a complaint before Bosnia's Communications Regulatory Agency and the State Prosecutor's Office over the statement in a TV show when the annual burial of the Srebrenica genocide victims was called a “play.”

“Too much has been said within 100 seconds. It is inadmissable that a public broacasting service allows spreading of hatred,” a Twitter user said sharing a video clip from a show aired in the programme of public broadcaster in Bosnia's Serb-majority region Republika Srpska, RTRS.

Suljagic then retweeted the post, announcing the complaints.

“Now we are going to test two institutions,” Suljagic said, announcing complaints before the Prosecutor's Office and the Communications Regulatory Agency.

He also said he does not doubt that “the rule of law in this country ends where the Muslims begin.”

The video in question shows President of Association of Journalists of Republika Srpska, Danijel Simic, speaking to RTRS and saying, among other things that what takes time every year in July in Srebrenica is a “Potocari play,” referring to the mass burial of the genocide victims at the Potocari memorial.

Over 8,000 men and boys were executed in the eastern Bosnian town in July 1995, which two international courts – the International Court of Justice and the UN tribunal for the crimes in former Yugoslavia ruled was an act of genocide committed by the then Bosnian Serb armed forces.
