St. Anthony of Padua’s Day was marked in Sarajevo on Tuesday in the Franciscan Church of St. Anthony, where a three-day feast was previously held.

For years, Sarajevo has held a Holy Mass on June 13, when Catholics around the world celebrate the patron saint of the poor, ill and children.

This year's Holy Mass was led by Archbishop Tomo Vuksic, who told the faithful that holiness is possible in human life.

“The feast of Saint Anthony is one of the most important ones for believers, and the saints are the realized image of God. The image and opportunity is our task, we need to achieve a resemblance to God with our deeds,” said Vuksic, adding that like artists we tailor our work and that it is quite human to miss a nuance, but we need to go back and fix things afterwards.

Believers pray to St. Anthony for lost things and objects, as well as lost spiritual goods.

Tonight's Holy Mass was the eighth in a row dedicated to St. Anthony, and nine masses were planned.
