A state of natural disaster was declared in the area of the eastern town of Visegrad after heavy rain caused a lot of damage, mostly to the roads. A number of buildings were flooded and landslides were triggered in some settlements.

The consequences of the extreme weather conditions in Visegrad are visible at every step, and floods caused a lot of damage to the private property of many citizens.

“HPP Visegrad, the utility company, Romanijaputevi, Water Supply, Civil Protection and the Fire Department immediately approached and helped. We had a situation where, fortunately, we did not have any casualties. The material damage is great” said the Mayor of Visegrad Mladen Djurevic.

Teams were deployed to assess the damage after the session of the Headquarters for Emergency Situations. A request was sent to civil protection authorities to help repair the damage as soon as possible.
