At the invitation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the North Atlantic Council (NAC), led by NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană, will visit Sarajevo on February 1 and 2, 2024.
On the first day of the visit, the Deputy Secretary General and ambassadors of NATO member states will meet with the BiH Presidency.
The meeting with the BiH prime minister, Borjana Kristo, and members of the Council of Ministers will be held in the afternoon. Kristo and Geoană will address the media after the meeting. On the same day, the BiH Parliament Board will meet with the NAC.
On the second day of the visit, the deputy NATO Secretary General and NATO member states’ ambassadors will talk with representatives of non-governmental organizations and university students from BiH. In the afternoon, during a visit to the Rajlovac military base, the Deputy SG and NAC will discuss the practical aspects of cooperation between Bosnia and NATO.
The Deputy Secretary General of NATO and the ambassadors will also meet with the Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Pamela McGaha, the Commander of the EU Forces in BiH (EUFOR) Major General László Sticz, the High Representative for BiH Christian Schmidt, and representatives of the international community in BiH.
