After recognizing one of its employees in a video recorded during the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia, which emerged on social media and caused an uproar in the public, the company Telemach BiH immediately sent a request to the War Crimes Department of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo asking whether the employee in question is under investigation for war crimes, the company said on Thursday.

Telemach BH said it does not employ persons who have committed crimes or war crimes, but only the competent judicial institutions have the authority to conduct investigations and initiate criminal proceedings and that, as a company that respects the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it will act according to the decisions of the competent judicial institutions.

Telemach BH cannot initiate investigations, as only the competent institutions can do that, but due to the uproar among the public, as well as the employees in the company, “we made a decision to suspend the employee until the BiH judicial authorities establish the facts and make a decision,” the company said.

“Telemach is a company of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in which neither religion nor nationality are seen as important and we are proud of the multiethnicity in our company,” it said.

“The only criteria for working at Telemach BH are professionalism and business ethics,” it added.
