The third Sarajevo Pride march kicked off Saturday at noon with participants celebrating this day in a hot, summer atmosphere, N1’s Sanda Arnautovic reported.
The organizers and participants, and all those who came to support the Pride march headed towards the Kosevo Street after gathering in the park near Sarajevo’s Second Gymnasium high school.
After Kosevo, they will go to the Marsala Tita Street from where then they will go to the BiH Parliament building, from where the organizers will repeat their demands.
Some 300 participants in the Pride march gathered in Sarajevo, this year. Many people gave their support to this event and one of them is the American Ambassador to BiH as well as the Swedish ambassador.
They all pointed out the importance of such a manifestation and how important it is to be held in Sarajevo noting that all citizens, regardless of their orientation, must be respected and that their human rights are to be respected.
The counter ‘Anti-LGBT’ protest organised by the “Iskorak” initiative, which is backed by the political party “Faith, People, State,” founded by theologian Sanin Musa has ended right before the Pride march began. They said they were against everything the Pride march demands and that their protest was peaceful.
