Decision on withdrawal of Bosnia' Serb-majority entity Republika Srpska from the central institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina is “wrong and dangerous,” said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Addressing the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Cavusoglu said that the stability in the Balkans is exposed to serious risks.
The statement comes days after the entity parliament of Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-majority region, passed a set of conclusions, making a step towards the entity's withdrawal from the key central institutions. The step was initiated by Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Milorad Dodik, in response to the genocide denial ban that was introduced by now former international peace envoy Valentin Inzko earlier this year.
“The decisions passed in the entity parliament of Republika Srpska, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is wrong, dangerous and against the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Cavusoglu said.
He also warned about the increasing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, stressing that a bad management in current circumstances in Afghanistan could result in consequences at the global level.
