Police in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity arrested two people as part of the investigation into the criminal group of Darko Elez, who was recently extradited to Bosnia from Serbia.
Elez was arrested in Belgrade in December 2020 on an Interpol warrant from Sarajevo.
In September 2011, the Court of Appeals in Belgrade confirmed the verdict of the Special Court, which states that Elez organized a criminal group in Belgrade and Bosnia in 2009, whose members were five other convicts, as well as several persons for whom the procedure is being conducted in BiH.
Proceedings against 31 members of the Elez clan have been ongoing in BiH since 2014, where they are accused of committing several serious crimes, from the murders of Vladimir Macar, Boris Govedarica and Zoran Golub, the attempted murder of Djordje Zdrale, as well as several armed robberies.
