The UK Government fully supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and will continue taking measures against those jeopardising that, said Sunak.

He also expressed concern over the situation in Kosovo, recalling that the UK foreign minister already told leaders in Belgrade and Pristina to calm the tensions and stop further violence.

As for the EUFOR, the EU military deployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he said its troops are crucial for the peace and stability in BiH, adding that the lack of the UK participation in the mission does not reflect the importance of the operation for the peace and stability in the region.

And we will continue to investigate the possibilities for expanding the cooperation with the mission, he added.

Bosniak member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency, who is paying a working visit to the UK, met with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs James Cleverly and UK special envoy for the Western Balkans Stuart Peach, informing them about the actions by Republika Srpska entity authorities, which jeopardise the Dayton Agreement and constitutional order of BiH.

He warned about the danger of destabilisation of BiH and the region due to the anti-Dayton actions of Republika Srpska authorities.

Becirovic stressed it would be better to “remove Dodik than allow his politics to existentially jeopardise the citizens and peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

It is of a great importance that a “global superpower like the UK stands firmly with Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens.”

Cleverly noted in the meeting it is the interest of the UK to preserve the peace and to respect the Dayton Peace Agreement. He emphasised that the UK's commitment to the democratic powers and future of BiH is unquestionable and that the UK will take further steps towards the stabilisation in this part of Europe.

Peach said that, as a witness of the Dayton Peace Agreement, the UK is BiH's ally and will continue providing support to the preserving of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH. He also said the UK supports the Euro-Atlantic path of Bih and strengthening of institutional cooperation.
