The famous BiH writer Ivo Andic once said that one cannot be called a true Bosnian if they have not heard of Kuslat. The words of the only Nobel laureate from this region were also recalled by Murphy, who stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina has so many wonderful things that should be explored, learned and visited. “I encourage everyone to do so. And now I feel like a real Bosnian because I was in Kuslat", he pointed out.

The Ambassador recalled how this medieval town, which is located south of Zvornik, on an almost hundred-meter high vertical rock above the confluence of the Jadar and Drinjaca, was under different rulers throughout history, but got its final appearance under the Ottomans, who in the 15th century built the Kuslat mosque.
