U.S. Congressman Mike Turner strognly criticized the president of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Republika Srpska entity, Milorad Dodik, in a post on X, stating that he is "turning to Vladimir Putin to further destabilize" the Balkans and streesing that the U.S. must not let this happen.
"Milorad Dodik is working to dismantle the Dayton Peace Accords and undermine 30 years of fragile peace in the Balkans. Now, he's turning to Vladimir Putin to further destabilize the region — defying the judicial process and threatening Republika Srpska’s secession from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We cannot let them succeed. As head of the U.S. delegation to NATO Parliamentary Assembly, it is incumbent upon the U.S. and our allies to advance peace and stability in BiH", he posted.
On Wednesday, a group of U.S. congressmen and senators sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, expressing deep concern over Dodik’s activities and urging him to prevent further deterioration of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
