The United States strongly supports independent institutions for law enforcement, prosecution and judiciary, working on behalf of the citizens of this country to investigate, prosecute, and punish corruption, the US Embassy told FENA news agency on Tuesday.
The Public Relations Office of the US Embassy in Sarajevo responded to a comment on the second-instance verdict by which the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH confirmed the first-instance verdict in the “Ventilators” affair, according to which former Federation (FBiH) entity Prime Minister Fadil Novalic received a prison sentence of four years, former director of the FBiH Civil Protection Administration Fahrudin Solak got a five-year prison sentence and supplier and director of “Srebrna Malina” Fikret Hodzic a prison sentence of six years.
”We have always called on Bosnia and Herzegovina's judicial institutions to make corrupt individuals responsible for their actions,” the US Embassy said.
