Gabriel Escobar, the US special envoy for the Western Balkans, said that the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo does not include anyone else in the region but that other sides are interested in the matter because it creates a possibility for the improvement of regional stability.
Speaking to media following a new round of talks on the Belgrade-Pristina relations, Escobar responded to questions regarding the comparison between Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-majority entity, and Kosovo i.e. their status.
The dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo is unique for Serbia and Kosovo, and does not include any other sides, Escobar stressed, adding that other sides show interest because this creates a possibility of the improvement of regional stability.
He stressed that the model for Bosnia and Herzegovina was created for that country only and will not be applied on another country.
Escobar also said that the US is encouraged by the latest developments in BiH, welcoming the appointment of the new governments at all levels following the elections. He also noted that the government in the Federation entity was formed quicker than ever before and expressed hope for future cooperation.
According to him, the situation in BiH is encouraging and the last elections were successful.
