According to official records updated this week, Armin Smajilovic and Brankica Jankovic were taken into federal custody during operations in Nashville. Their arrests are listed in the newly launched DHS transparency platform titled “Arrested: Worst of the Worst” (WOW), a public database that tracks enforcement actions against what the administration describes as “criminal illegal aliens.”

The WOW database, available at wow.dhs.gov, was launched in early 2026 and allows the public to monitor arrests by state and nationality. As of February 2026, the database contains more than 25,000 entries. DHS records show that a significant number of those listed were arrested during recent federal operations across the southeastern United States, including individuals originating from the Balkan region.

According to DHS, Armin Smajilovic is charged with first-degree murder. Brankica Jankovic is charged with possession of narcotics and criminal trespass. Both charges are listed directly on the federal portal alongside their names and nationalities.

In addition to Smajilovic and Jankovic, the DHS website lists several other individuals from Bosnia and Herzegovina who have been convicted of various crimes in the United States. These include Jeton Bytyqi, convicted of arson; Admir Vele, convicted of assault and forgery of checks; Safet Avdulahaj, convicted of a sex offense; Demir Keco, convicted of aggravated assault involving a weapon and carrying a prohibited weapon; Gordana Juhic, convicted of assault, burglary and damage to private property; Mirdal Lipljanac, convicted of larceny; Adnan Sinanovic, convicted of voluntary manslaughter and burglary; Kemal Dugalic, convicted of drug trafficking involving marijuana and cocaine, as well as money laundering; Ermin Saric, convicted of fleeing to avoid prosecution and possession of amphetamines; Denisa Alimanovic, convicted of aggravated assault with a weapon, battery and damage to public property; and Hata Saric, convicted of heroin possession.
