US Senator Chris Murphy commented on the statements of Russian Ambassador Igor Kalabukhov regarding the potential membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina in NATO, stating that Russia is currently losing the war in Ukraine and that it would not be able to start another one in BiH.
“Almost all of Russia’s forces are bogged down in a war in Ukraine they are losing. Russia can’t even win one war, never mind start another one in Bosnia,” Murphy tweeted.

The US Senator made this statement in response to a tweet by British journalist Julian Borger, who quoted the statement Kalabukhov gave to local media in BiH.

“If [Bosnia] decides to be a member of anything [ie Nato] that is an internal matter. But our reaction is something else. In the example of Ukraine, we have shown what we expect. If there is a threat, we will react”, Kalabukhov told the public broadcaster in Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity.
