US Special Representative Paolo Zampolli meets with RS PM to discuss strategic projects

"On my part, I can promise that I will deliver this document to all possible addresses, where it will be presented," Zampolli said during a press conference in Banja Luka. Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, Zampolli noted that this is his first visit to the city. He added that his mission is primarily focused on sports diplomacy and cooperation, having already met with representatives from the Olympic Committee and FIFA.

Prime Minister Savo Minic emphasized that for the RS to develop its capacities, it is vital that Zampolli delivers the specific projects discussed by the RS delegation during their recent visit to Washington to the appropriate offices. Minic specified that these proposals primarily concern the energy sector.

During the meeting, Minic conveyed that the entity "wishes to live in peace and will not jeopardize functioning within the Dayton Peace Agreement." He stressed that the RS wants the "original" Dayton Agreement to function and views the United States as an "absolutely realistic partner."

"The RS is currently leading two activities. The first topic relates to the protection of the institutions of Republika Srpska and presenting the entity to the world exactly as it is," Minic stated. He further clarified that the RS is not a "disruptive element," is not pursuing secession, nor is it separating from anyone, echoing recent statements made by BiH Presidency member Zeljka Cvijanovic and Alliance of Independent Social Democrats’ (SNSD) leader Milorad Dodik.

Paolo Zampolli is an Italian-born businessman, diplomat, and lobbyist. He is notably recognized for his long-standing friendship with the incumbent US President, Donald Trump.
