After 36 without winning a title, the Mostar-based football club Velez won the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup for the 2021-2022 season, beating football club Sarajevo 4-3 on penalties.

The game was played at the neutral stadium ‘Bilino Polje’ in the central town of Zenica in presence of numerous fans of both teams.

Velez FC made a huge progress over the past three years, advancing from the second league to its first trophy in the post-war history of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The team will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina next season in European competitions, more precisely in the UEFA Europe Conference League.
