The International Day of Combating Sexual Violence in Conflict, June 19, was marked Sunday in front of the "Partizan" hall in Foca. Alija Kozljak, the head of the cabinet, addressed the audience on behalf of the BiH Presidency member, Denis Becirovic.
Kozljak expressed deep solidarity with the victims of sexual violence in all war-torn areas of the world and sent a message that prosecuting the perpetrators of such crimes and providing justice to the victims must be a constant obligation.
The international community, including the United Nations and other international organizations, witnessed the serious crimes committed against women in Bosnia, Kozljak said in front of the Partizan hall where hundreds of women were raped and tortured.
United Nations Security Council Resolution 2467, which was adopted on June 19, 2019, emphasizes the importance of dealing with sexual violence in conflicts and the importance of providing support to victims.
