Irena Hadziabdic, President of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CIK BiH), announced that the voter turnout in today's local elections was 47.72%.
This percentage does not include results from three polling stations: Kotor Varos, Istocni Stari Grad, and Capljina. Hadziabdic highlighted that, considering elections were not held in all electoral units and some were postponed, the data is not fully complete. In comparison, turnout in 2022 was 50.43%.
She emphasized the success of pilot projects introducing innovative technologies in the 2024 election process. Thanks to this technology, CIK received 45% of the results within 20 minutes of polls closing.
Despite some issues, Hadziabdic stated that the technology proved efficient and helped streamline the election process. In terms of security, she added that CIK was satisfied with reports from local election operation centers.
