Renowned German film director Wim Wenders told Bosnia’s public broadcaster that he loves everything about Sarajevo, as he walked the red carpet in front of the National Theater in Sarajevo at the opening of the 27th Sarajevo Film Festival of Friday evening.
Wenders, who will receive the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo this year, visited Bosnia’s capital before, ten years ago, but told BHRT that he feels like it was only yesterday.
“Beautiful night in Sarajevo, I walked all day. I like everything in Sarajevo,” said the director, who also won awards at festivals in Cannes, Berlin and Venice throughout his long career.
“This award is very important to me,” he said.
“I'm very glad that I will have the opportunity to talk to the audience after the screenings,” he said as he recommended his film ‘Until the End of the World’ to the audience.
The festival will pay tribute to the famous director and the guests will have an opportunity to see a retrospective of his selected work in the festival's ‘Tribute to’ programme.
