Windows smashed at Puhalska mosque in Kozarska Dubica

The incident was discovered Tuesday morning and the police were immediately notified, Safet Beganovic, the chief imam, confirmed.

"The windows were broken from the side of the cemetery, not from the street. Two outer windows were damaged. The police responded swiftly and conducted an investigation. We expect the perpetrators to be found and appropriately sanctioned because such attacks are unnecessary, create unrest, and foster a negative atmosphere in the community. This is a religious site, a place of spirituality," Beganovic stated.

He emphasized that the Islamic Community advocates for peace and called on authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure the security of religious sites.

"It is crucial that the perpetrators are quickly identified and prosecuted rather than leaving room for doubt and insecurity. We expect the authorities to do their part and demonstrate that such attacks will not and must not be tolerated," Beganovic concluded.
