The event featured a performance called “Serbia, Look in the Mirror: You Will See Srebrenica - 30 Years - 30 Mirrors,” supported by the Skart and Dah Theatre artistic collectives and various civil society organisations.
The participants unfurled banners reading “We Will Never Forget the Srebrenica Genocide,” “Responsibility,” and “Solidarity,” and held up the number 8,372, representing the victims.
A black canvas inscribed with “Srebrenica - The Name of Genocide” was laid out in the square, and participants stepped forward holding mirrors with black bands.

A larger number of police officers provided security, while three individuals stood nearby using a megaphone to claim that the number of Srebrenica victims was inaccurate and to deny that genocide had taken place. They also shouted “Long Live Republika Srpska” and read out the names of Serbs killed during the conflict.
Women in Black call for Serbia to officially recognise the Srebrenica genocide, primarily so as to honour the dignity of the victims, but also as an opportunity for Serbia to align with the community of democratic nations in Europe and beyond.
They also demand that the president and other state officials stop denying the Srebrenica genocide and other war crimes committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond. They also call for the denial of genocide and other crimes against humanity to be classified as a criminal offence and for July 11 to be declared a national day of remembrance for the Srebrenica genocide.
Additionally, they call for the removal of murals across Serbia glorifying Ratko Mladic, who was convicted of genocide in Srebrenica, and call on Serbia to cease policies that fuel regional instability by interfering in the internal affairs of neighbouring countries, particularly Bosnia and Herzegovina.
