A 27-year-old man died Monday night in a fire at his family home in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Binjezevo. This information was previously confirmed for the N1 news portal by Mersiha Novalic, the Sarajevo Canton’s Interior Ministry spokesperson.

Namely, the fire broke out after a natural gas explosion at around 11:20 pm.

Doctor Kemal Kadric, an emergency medicine specialist told N1 that two teams were immediately sent to the scene.

“Last night around 11:30 pm., we received a call that there had been a gas explosion in Binjezevo. We found one person who passed away. It is a 27-year-old man. His father was seriously injured. The patient has a semi-trauma and burns all over his body. We immediately took care of him and transported him to the Sarajevo University Clinical Center. The mother survived with minor injuries, but of course there is a stress reaction,” Kadric told N1.
