Reuters news agency published a story about the centenarian Nada Rudan from Sarajevo, a woman who is still active even in her advanced years. Nada relaxes by painting, a skill she discovered at the age of 87, which she crowned with an exhibition of her works held on the occasion of her 100th birthday.
Rudan, an amateur painter, started painting at a late age in order to occupy herself with this activity, although she often points out that her days are often too short to accomplish everything she planned to do. Reuters writes that it became her routine to paint for three hours in the morning and two in the afternoon, when she is at home, of course.
“I don't know what boredom means, I don't know what depression means, I always find something to do,” she said.
Rudan talked with Reuters in her spacious home in the centre of Sarajevo, surrounded by selected pictures from a total of 200 from her collection.
Rudan worked as a seamstress until she was 85.
