Authorities help sustainable tourism of National Park Una

Bosnia's National Park Una will receive the significant financial support of authorities this year within the five- year plan of establishing a self-sustaining operation, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity has said on Wednesday,

The Government held a session on Wednesday and decided to allocate 500,000 Bosnian marks (BAM) (approx. EUR 250,000) this year for the National Park Una, one of the three national parks in Bosnia.

A statement issued by the FBiH Government said that a feasibility study, conducted as a condition for adoption of the Law on National Park Una and establishment of the National Park Una public enterprise, stipulated the financial support of BAM 900,000 (approx EUR 450,000) per year, with half million BAM approved Wednesday as part of that amount.

The National Park Una, situated in the north-west of Bosnia near the border with Croatia, records constant increase in the number of tourists, according to the national park's management. It is a host to a number of sport and cultural events such as the International Una Regatta, the International Rotary Train, Una Trail Run, and many others.
