The country is constantly in some sort of a crisis and its intensity is increasing prior to the election, political analyst Adnan Terzic has told N1 commenting the current political situation in Bosnia.
Terzic said it was clear that no change to the electoral legislation could be carried out now, as the country already called the October election.
Bosnian political leaders have been trying to amend the Law on Election after the Constitutional Court ruled back in 2016 that the law's provisions treating the proportional and equal representation in parliament were inconsistent with the Constitution.
According to Terzic, political parties will let the Central Election Commission (CEC) decide on the selection of delegates and representatives in both chambers of Bosnia's bicameral parliaments once the election is over.
Commenting the unsuccessful political talks on changes to the Election Law, Terzic said the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH), one of the parties in the talks, “intentionally set too high goals so that the solution cannot be reached.”
“Political parties haven't been honest for all this time. (…) The election will not be fair, and this is where I see the dishonesty of political parties,” he added.
