One person was killed late Friday night in Velika Kladusa, a northernmost town at the border with Croatia. According to Una-Sana Canton’s Interior Ministry spokesperson, Snezana Galic, a migrant from Morocco was killed after a knife fight.
“At around 11 pm, a fight broke out in a house where migrants were accommodated. From the house, the fight continued in the streets of Velika Kladusa. At one point a migrant pulled out a knife and injured another migrant, a Moroccan (born 1994) who later died due to stab wounds,” Galic told N1.
The Cantonal Prosecutor is at the crime scene and the act was qualified as a murder, Galic confirmed.
As she stated, the investigation is underway and interviews are conducted with all the persons who participated in this fight.
Hours later, N1 was told by the Interior Ministry that 2 suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder. Both are migrants as well.
During the past several months, Bosnia has become a transit country for migrants travelling to the EU. So far, some 5,000 migrants entered the country. No migrant was granted asylum, so far.
