The head of the association of families of Srebrenica genocide victims handed over a list of 22.000 suspects of the crime to German prosecutor Klaus Zorn on Monday, with the request to check whether any of them are hiding in Germany and if so, to make them face justice there.

“A large number of the perpetrators is still walking freely,” said the Head of the Movement of Srebrenica and Zepa Enclaves, Munira Subasic.

“I will ask the head prosecutor to check all of those who are in Germany, to bring them in, to have them face justice, not in Bosnia, but in Germany,” she said.

The list Subasic handed the German prosecutor was put together by the Government of Republika Srpska, Bosnia’s Serb-dominated semi-autonomous part, in 2005.

The US has the same list and has already made steps to find some of the suspects. The names will be distributed to other countries so that they can check if any of the alleged perpetrators are living there, Subasic said.
