Serbia's meddling with internal matters of Bosnia and Herzegovina always meant a transformation of the diverse into ethnically clean territories, the goal that was reached through war crimes and genocide, Bosnia Presidency candidate Denis Becirovic said on Tuesday.
Responding to Serbia's Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic, who called the affairs in Bosnia's Republika Srpska (RS) entity the internal affairs of Serbia, Becirovic said he would like to remind Dacic that “the last time Serbia treated the arrangement of our state as its internal matter, it experienced a defeat in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as a series of internal defeats.”
“The more Serbia interfered with the affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina the faster it got left without the independent territories of Montenegro and Kosovo,” he added.
Serbia's Dacic attended on Tuesday a highway opening ceremony in RS, Serb-dominated entity, where he said among other things that anyone attempting to destroy RS should be aware that Serbia would not be sitting idly.
“I'm very honoured and pleased to be here with you. I always feel uncomfortable to be in RS as a foreign affairs minister, for these are not foreign affairs but our internal affairs, among the Serb people,” Dacic stressed.
Becirovic, who will run for the post of Bosniak member of Bosnia's Presidency in the general election on October 7, told Serbia's Foreign Minister to watch his passport and “to stamp it as he is leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina while he is waving at his hosts who welcomed him on this side of the Drina river, in the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
