Ahead of a UEFA tournament, Bosnia’s female U16 soccer team is learning sign language so they can communicate with one of their members, Jovana Stevanovic, who has a hearing impairment.
“Sign language lessons were organised on Saturday and Sunday and it was very nice. The girls did it in order to help their team member and communicate with her better. We will continue to organise these lessons in the future, while Jelena is part of the team,” said the team manager Ilija Lucic.
As soon as Jovana joined the team, management connected with a Sarajevo centre for persons with hearing impairment whose experts are teaching the team sign language.
