Responding to the invitation of a group of alumni of the Council of Europe's School of Political Studies to visit Bosnia, French president Emmanuel Macron said last week he was very interested in visiting the country.
“Touched by your actions, the Head of State charged me with sending you a heartfelt thank you. Rest assured that he received your kind invitation with great interest. We will not miss to inform you about the possible visit of Emmanuel Macron to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Please receive our heartfelt greetings,” Macron's office replied.
A group of alumni of the Council of Europe's School of Political Studies invited the French President Emmanuel Macron, who said that their country was not a ticking bomb, to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina. The invitation was sent in November this year before the officials and participants of the 2019 World Democracy Forum which was held at the Council of Europe.
Youth from different parts of Bosnia, different political parties and civil society organisations wrote a letter in English, French and Bosnian language calling on Macron to face the present in the same way that the people of Bosnia are constantly called on to confront their past.
In the letter, the alumni wrote that “Bosnia is not a ticking time-bomb.”
