UAE's medical aid plane arrives in Belgrade carrying 10 tons of equipment

An airplane carrying medical aid for the fight against the spread of coronavirus has arrived on Sunday from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Belgrade.

The authorities said this is only the first part of the promised help from the UAE and that it contains 13,750 protective and 15,000 hospital suits, 500,000 gloves, 30,000 shoe protectors, 20,000 masks, 6,000 sanitizers. In total, 10 tons of equipment landed at Belgrade airport.

In the second part of the donation, the UAE will send respirators to Serbia. The plane was welcomed at the airport by Serbia's Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar, UAE Ambassador to Serbia Mubarak Said El Daheri, other Serbian officials and diplomats from the UAE.

The plane arrived on the instructions of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, and under the supervision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayd al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
